William Hawkins

What We Know

William Hawkins was the elder son of William Hawkins of Plymouth and the elder brother of Sir John Hawkins. He was a merchant and three times mayor of Plymouth, in 1567–68, 1578–79 and 1587–88, and died on 7 October 1589. [1] No source found calls him a knight.
